“The surface of things gives enjoyment, their interiority gives life.”

Piet Mondrian

A stain or spot in your garment is no longer a reason to reject your item. Hul le Kes wants to help you to extend the life cycle of your favorite garment. Our Dyeing Service is developed to celebrate its stains instead of hiding them. This will add even more emotional value to your garment, it will accentuate its characteristics and make it a great conversation piece.

For our Dyeing Service we only use natural, plant based, ingredients. To avoid more toxic and heavy chemicals will be added to our global environment.

Quality of your item

Your item may be from any kind of brand and of any kind of age. What does matter is the quality of your item. It should be made from at least 75% natural fibers, such as: Cotton, Linen, Silk, Bamboo, Hemp, Viscose and so on. It is not possible to dye polyesters or nylons. Although wool is possible to dye, we do not accept wool garments due to the risk of felting and shrinking during the process.

How it works

  1. you have an item you love, but can not use anymore because of stains, spots or whatsoever

Send your item

After ordering your Dyeing Service(s), please send your item(s) to:

Dyeing Process

Hul le Kes only dyes with natural ingredients. This we do because we want to show the beauty and capabilities of nature. In the past decades the fast fashion industry has used so many heavy chemicals to dye with. Due to that whole ecosystems have dyed, people are poisoned and much more terrible things. Because of this we only use natural dyes, much better for the environment and biodegradable.

As we dye with natural ingredients the colors will fade after a while. How quickly this will happen, all depends on the quality of yarns that have been used for your garment and how many times you will wash it. The less chemicals are used in the yarn (so the more natural the yarn still is), the longer and better our plant dyes will stay. We advise you not to send us garments with an ‘easy iron’ coating, as it will prevent our dyes from attaching to your fabric for a longer period of time.

When your garment is faded, just order a new Dyeing Service again. That way you can keep on extending its life cycle and enjoy its new beginnings again and again.

Back to you

You will receive back your item 2 to 4 weeks after we have received your garment. This will depend on the type of item, how busy our studio is at that moment and on where you live. Please make sure to supply us with all your contact information. When ordering a Dyeing Service you will already pay for the transport back to you.
