There is only one valuable thing in art: the thing you cannot explain.
– Georges Braque
Georges Braque was a French painter, draftsman, sculptor and collage maker. He was one of the pioneers of new directions in modern 20th-century art. Together with the Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, he was the founder of cubism. Braque was also active as a jewelry designer.
