Sjaak is intriged about the naive, colourful, beautiful forms of Matisse and the simplification and abstraction of his forms in motion. Henri Matisse (1869 – 1954, France), played a crucial role in shaping the revolutionary changes in the visual arts during the early 20th century, contributing significantly to painting and sculpture. Throughout his extensive career of 50 years, he demonstrated his mastery of color and drawing, establishing himself as a prominent figure in modern art.
