1. Hul le Kes Crowdfunding

By sharing crowdaboutnow.nl/hullekes with all your friends and family. Share it in your group chats, on social media, or during conversations. The more people get involved, the bigger our impact!

€350,000 is a significant amount that allows us to take big steps forward. This capital is essential for setting up our pop-up stores, opening our paper workshop, and expanding our educational programs. Without it, we won’t be able to achieve the growth and impact we envision. We also have a maximum goal of €500,000, which would give us the extra capacity to open a permanent store in Amsterdam and finance the preparation for a Recovery Studio there.

If we do not reach the minimum target of €350,000, all crowdfunders will get their money back. No funds will be collected if the minimum target is not met.

If we approach our maximum goal of €500,000, we will be able to realize one of our original plans: opening a permanent store in Amsterdam in 2025. This store will not only help us sell our products but will also increase our visibility as a pioneer in sustainable fashion. It will also allow us to finance the preparation for opening a Recovery Studio in Amsterdam.

You will receive an annual return of 3.5% on your investment, which will be paid over a period of five years. In addition to the financial return, you will also receive unique rewards as a thank you for your support.

Our primary focus is to achieve our four main objectives: opening pop-up stores in Amsterdam, establishing a paper workshop in Arnhem, expanding our educational programs through the Hul le Kes Conscious Studio, and strengthening our international growth. This capital will enable us to increase both our social and circular impact.

You will get your money back within five years. Repayments will begin in the second year, with 25% of the loan amount repaid annually, including the 3.5% annual interest.

We are opting for a combination of loans and pre-sales because it offers us flexibility. With a loan, you receive a fixed return and support our long-term growth. With pre-sales, you can immediately benefit from our products and services, giving us a direct boost to realize our plans. Both options allow you to be part of our mission for a circular and inclusive future.

At the moment, this is our only crowdfunding round. If we achieve our goals, we expect to continue growing independently in the coming years. Further crowdfunding rounds are not currently planned.

2. Participation

Yes, absolutely! Businesses are welcome to invest in this crowdfunding campaign. If you have specific questions, feel free to email us.

Even if you’re based in Belgium, the US or elsewhere, you can participate in our crowdfunding. Just send us an email at info@hullekes.com and we’ll help you with the details.

The campaign runs until November 30, 2024, unless we reach our goal of €350,000 before that date. We hope to reach the goal soon, so don’t wait too long to join!

The maximum per contribution is €30,000, but you can invest multiple times if you wish. We encourage you to only invest money that you can afford to miss for a longer period.

The minimum amount to participate in the crowdfunding (loan option) is €250, and the minimum amount for the pre-sale (donation) options is €50. If you’d like to contribute more, you’re welcome to! You can choose the amount you want to invest.

Our team is diverse in both age and background. With employees ranging from 24 to 60 years old and a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, we strengthen each other and bring together different perspectives. This makes our team versatile and dynamic, something we’re proud of.

We also collaborate with various (re)integrators and volunteers in our Recovery Studio. These team members contribute to the creative process while working on their personal development. We are always open to welcoming new team members and certainly need more people to help us achieve our goals.

No, there is no guarantee. Investing always carries risks. You can read more about the risks on our risk page.

You cannot change the investment amount after it’s been made. If you’d like to contribute more, you can invest again. If you want to reduce the amount, you have four days to withdraw your investment.

  • Crowdfundability: During a personal intake, we discuss the entrepreneur’s plans. We assess whether the entrepreneur is willing to use their own network to be the first to take the risk of investing.
  • Identity: We identify the entrepreneur face-to-face, conduct a criminal record check, and verify the Chamber of Commerce registration. We also ask entrepreneurs to provide information on their UBOs (Ultimate Beneficial Owners).
  • Support: If the entrepreneur does not have financial support, we recommend contacting an accountant, business advisor, or another relevant service provider.
  • Legal: Our agreements are legally binding and enable investors to enforce their rights.
  • All or nothing: If not enough people invest to reach the target, everyone gets their money back. You can rely on the fact that many other investors are independently reviewing and monitoring the project. This acts as a social check.
  • EBI: Every entrepreneur fills out a document containing all the essential investor information (EBI). We do this as part of our ECSP license. The European Commission requires that investors can easily compare crowdfunding projects.

In this case, investing means contributing to the realization of a plan by lending money.

CrowdAboutNow is the crowdfunding platform for entrepreneurs who want to grow independently and for investors who want to support local, social, and mission-driven businesses that contribute to a vibrant community, diversity in products, and innovation. CrowdAboutNow brings them together!

CrowdAboutNow also ensures that investing is done safely, thanks to its European Crowdfunding and Service Providers Regulation license (ECSPR).

On the platform, you can invest up to €1,000,000. However, we have set our own maximum investment of €50,000. Your bank may also impose daily limits. Please note that it’s advised not to invest more than 10% of your available capital.

You can choose between a loan, a gift, or a combination of the two.

In a loan campaign, we as the entrepreneurs promise to repay the investment with interest.

For every investment, whether it’s a donation or a loan, a contract will be created. This contract will be stored in your account. You can always access it there and download it.

As part of our European Crowdfunding License, you need to be identified through our payment provider (OPP). Without this identification, we cannot transfer the loan or interest to you.

After making an investment, you’ll be prompted to complete your identification process via OPP.

Do contact us for help

We believe it’s important that you invest because you want to support us as entrepreneurs. The motivation to invest isn’t just the return or the reward, although those are nice bonuses. It’s recommended not to invest more than 10% of your available capital in crowdfunding.
