With his work that looks childlike and naive Karel Appel (1921 – 2006) is an inspiration for Sjaak in his daily work. The dreamy, colorful yet powerful paintings by Karel Appel made him become one of the most famous modern artists in the Netherlands. To honor his work this Hul le Kes item is named after Appel. During his studies Appel met Corneille, another artist to whom we named some of our items.

Hullekes rust dye is a iron based dye and done by hand in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Each dye is unique.

Fit & sizing
In the pictures you see Maud and Vincent wearing size 1 Appel Top.
Vincent is 180 cm tall, his chest is 90 cm, waist 74 cm, hips 92 cm.
Maud has a small/medium size with 176 cm tall, her chest is 88 cm, waist 67 cm and hips 95 cm.
Passport & packaging
Each Appel Top will get its own unique code and a matching Clothing Passport. Make sure to use the passport to create your personal narrative.
Are you done with the top? We are always happy to receive old items back, especially if they are provided with their original passport. Or give the garment, including its passport, to your beloved friend or family member. But never forget: do not throw away your Hul le Kes garment.
