“A well-painted portrait you can recognize somebody in all his expressions.”
– Charley Toorop
Charley Toorop (1891–1955) was a painter of fierce independence and raw expressiveness. Her work reveals a deep connection to everyday life, marked by resilience, realism, and an unpolished beauty. Much like Toorop, Hul le Kes embraces imperfection and authenticity beyond conventions.
