Charley Toorop (1891–1955) was a painter of fierce independence and raw expressiveness. Her work reveals a deep connection to everyday life, marked by resilience, realism, and an unpolished beauty. Much like Toorop, Hul le Kes embraces imperfection and authenticity beyond conventions.
Crafted from vintage wool blankets, each Toorop Beachcomber Jacket is a one-of-a-kind piece. Finished with deadstock ribbed bindings, every detail is chosen to complement the character of the original fabric.
Small repairs by our Recovery Studio honour the life of the material while ensuring lasting comfort.

The Toorop Beachcomber Jacket is featured here on Mila and Jean-Loup. Mila, who typically wears a size 32/34 (EU) and is 174 cm tall (5’8.5″), is wearing a size 1. Jean-Loup, who usually wears a size 48 (EU) and is 189 cm tall (6’2.5″), is also wearing a size 2.
