We are happy to tell you that the Hul le Kes Pop-up Store is extended until July 30th. Besides that we would like to share with you some special events in the upcoming weeks. Together with you and other designers we like to change the fashion system, we do so by introducing to you three events at our store’s location:
A talk by OPA, FDFA and Numéro NL on June 28
Stockdagen Arnhem, together with Gray Label and Fant from June 30 until July 3
Hul le Kes Dyeing Event on July 16
What are the values of fashion? To answer this question Timotej Letonja (editor in chief of Numéro NL) will start a dialogue with designers Julia Garcia Bello (Argentinia), Mirte Engelhard (the Netherlands), Lu Lin (China) and the audience. What is the importance of fashion? Which cultural values, stories or intimate values are overlooked? How can we make sure fashion will be of more value to people? As part of the Fashion + Design Festival Arnhem, with this year’s theme ‘Valuable’, organizes Ontwerp Platform Arnhem together with Numéro Nederland an open discussion on location at our Hul le Kes Pop-up Store.
The door of our store will be open at 19:30, the event will start at 20:00. Entrance: € 7,50 | Students € 4,- | Free entrance for OPA members, BNO members and students of Rijn IJssel.
The Stockdagen (‘stock-days’) is an event which was founded by Sebastiaan Kramer, managing director of Hul le Kes, many years ago. Since the start all designers of Arnhem open their closets and warehouses in June to sell samples, fabrics, haberdasheries, old and new collections. During the years the Stockdagen became one of the largest events in Arnhem. Because of the Stockdagen, Hul le Kes will invite two old-friends into the store. Next to the Hul le Kes and Hul le Kes ReShared products you will find products and stock sales by Gray Label and Fant at our store.
For over a year Hul le Kes has been working together with the childrenswear brand Gray Label, by developing our collaborative capsule collection. Gray Label will organize a stock sale during the Stockdagen Arnhem at the Hul le Kes store.
For Fant we have been working on the manufacturing of their womenswear and interior collection already for a couple of years. Fant will join the Hul le Kes store during the Stockdagen and sell old stock, fabrics and the newest collection.
Next to Hul le Kes, Gray Label and Fant (at Wezenstraat 5 in Arnhem) many other fashion designers join the Stockdagen in Arnhem. Have a look at the Stockdagen website for all participating designers, stores and locations.
During the State of Fashion biennale Hul le Kes has been giving workshops about natural dyeing. These workshops are all sold out and have proved their success. We have been able to teach many people the first steps in natural dyeing. As chemical dyeing brings along many big environmental and health problems Hul le Kes dyes all its products at their own studio and with natural ingredients only. To get more people interested in natural dyeing and the effects of it we will organize a special event at the Hul le Kes Store.
Sjaak Hullekes and his team will demonstrate how we dye our garments at Hul le Kes. He explains how we look at color and color maintenance in a different way. How does that help us all towards a new fashion system? While enjoying a drink you will hear all about it and are able to ask Hul le Kes all about natural dyeing and sustainable fashion.
The event will start at 16:00. Tickets ( € 10,- | Students € 7,50) are available via our website and includes your drinks during this afternoon event to start changing the fashion system together.
