As of July 1, 2024, our Managing Director, Sebastiaan Kramer, will be the new curator of body-related design at Museum Arnhem. He succeeds Anne-Karlijn van Kesteren, who continued her career at the Design Museum in Den Bosch. As the creative director of the Fashion + Design Festival Arnhem, Sebastiaan Kramer organized various fashion exhibitions and events. Additionally, he is the co-founder and general director of the social and circular fashion label Hul le Kes.
Museum Arnhem has a distinctive collection of modern and contemporary jewelry. Under the banner of ‘body-related design,’ fashion and jewelry are approached in a cross-disciplinary manner in connection with (inter)national developments. This was evident in exhibitions such as Body Control and Tussen Grenzen. In the field of fashion, Museum Arnhem plays a significant role and regularly organizes notable exhibitions. Examples include exhibitions by Bas Kosters and Ravage, as well as thematic exhibitions like We’re in This Together. The museum is also part of the collaborative network Modepartners 025, in which various Arnhem fashion organizations work together.
“We are delighted that Sebastiaan Kramer will be joining the team at Museum Arnhem. Sebastiaan has a sharp vision, has created relevant exhibitions, thinks across disciplines, and is audience-oriented.” Saskia Bak, director of Museum Arnhem
“I have seen Museum Arnhem develop over the years into a museum full of social relevance. Especially in the current zeitgeist, I believe that the cultural and artistic content of fashion and jewelry design can have a unifying effect. I look forward to sharing this connection with the museum’s visitors.” Sebastiaan Kramer
