“Cobra is an attitude towards life, towards art, and towards the reality of life.”
– Corneille (Corneille-Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo)
This garment is named after the Dutch painter Corneille (1922 – 2010) who played a significant role in the Cobra movement. The movement was founded by him and other artists from Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam and is an inspiration for Sjaak’s work. Another artist part of this movement was Karel Appel, also some of the Hul le Kes designs have been named after him due to the same reason.
