“I listened, how I listened! That’s how I finally became my own expert.”
-Marguerite “Peggy” Guggenheim
Marguerite “Peggy” Guggenheim (1898 – 1979) was a patron of modern art, discovering influential artists. Sjaak admires her support to artists movements in the 20th century, and her eye for collecting contemporary art. This garment is named after Guggenheim to honor the work she has done for these artists.
Quality
The Guggenheim Miitens will be made from the vintage blanket you have selected in our online shop. These vintage blankets are 100% wool and collected via our recycling partners or via donations people have made. You can also send us your own favourite blanket.
The bindings are made from dead-stock ribbed fabrics.
At our Manufacturing Studio we do our best to make sure only the good parts of the vintage blankets are used. In some cases our Recovery Studio will make small repairs to the old material to make sure we can upcycle as much materials as possible.
