This Hul le Kes Rodin Shirt is part of our classics. It is a perfect shirt year-round with a slightly oversized fit and a perfect conversation piece on every occasion. The gathering at the back and sleeves are inspired by centuries old workwear of artists. Each panel of the shirt is made from another upcycled cotton bedding. That way each part of the garment is slightly different in its quality and texture. The shirt bears the name of Parisian sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840 – 1917). A traditionally schooled sculptor who approaches his work like a craftsman. One of his most famous works is Le Penseur (The Thinker). A bronze nude male figure sitting on a rock, his chin resting on his hand. Besides Rodin’s sculptures, his personal workwear is a great inspiration when designing Hul le Kes garments.
Quality
This garment is made from old bedding fabrics, after making it has been dyed with our natural dyes. The beddings that are used are made of 100% cotton and collected via our recycling partners or via donations people have made. The garment is dyed with different kinds of plants and plant extracts, together they give the various kinds of green tones.
Each panel comes from a different kind of bedding. That makes that the quality may differ and also the color differs on each panel. This makes each garment unique and shows you the beauty of imperfection.

At our Manufacturing Studio we have selected the best parts of these beddings, cleaned it and started the puzzle of combining the remaining parts from several beddings together. In some cases our Recovery Studio will make small repairs to the old material to make sure we can upcycle as much materials as possible.
Fit & Sizing
In the pictures you see Appollo and Roni both wearing a size 2 Rodin Shirt.
Appollo is 185 cm (6 ft 08) tall and often wears a size 48 or 50 and size M to L. Roni is 172 cm (5 ft 7) tall and wears mostly a size 36 and S.
