Pollock Apron White
An apron should have a place in any kitchen. At Hul le Kes we’re always enthusiastic seeing people working with their hands in and around the house. Whether you’re baking apple pie, picking flowers in the garden or spend an afternoon painting, our Pollock Apron is made to protect the clothes you wear underneath, next to being plain stylish.
The apron is completely made from antique French linen and is made by hand in our Arnhem studio. It has one large pocket sown on the front, divided in three compartments that can be used for your gloves, flowers, a recipe, pencils etcetera. Five loops can be used to hold pruning shears, whisks and other tools.
Any stains on a Pollock apron will only add to its charm.
"Every good painter paints what he is"
Our apron is named after the American abstract expressionist painter Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) Pollock used liquid household paint and reached the height of his fame in the late 40’s, his ‘drip period’. He painted by pouring and dripping paint on canvas. Peggy Guggenheim even commissioned Pollock to paint a 2,5 by 6 meter mural in her house. Pollock’s unique way of painting in this period is a big inspiration to the way Hul le Kes uses natural dye.
At Hul le Kes we do not want to focus on a particular gender. Therefore, we work with our own size chart. Our sizes range from 1 to 4. When a garment is a one size fits all, it’s sized as A. As is the case for our Pollock Apron.
